::We are excited to feature Celeste from Doodle La again!
This time she will be showing us how to put together a wonderful St. Rita of Casia diorama::
I have a special love for St. Rita. She lived an extraordinary life, and I admire her very much. I’ve found her novena to be very powerful, and my prayers have never gone unanswered.
Here is how to make this lovely project.
Here is the link to download the printable parts of the diorama.
It’s important to print it on a durable, heavy paper or cardstock so that the pieces will be stiff enough to hold their shape once they are glued in place.
To begin, you want to measure out a piece of your decorative paper to match the size of the back of your box and glue it to the back with a thin layer of glue. (An alternative to this would be to paint or color the back!)
Next, color and cut out each piece. (Be careful to cut around the image supports that are at the bottom of St.Rita, and on the out side edges of the decorative frames. )
Once the pieces are colored, you will want to fold the image supports over so that they can be glued to the inside of the box.
With a thin layer of glue on the support, attach Rita to the inside of the box.
Next attach the decorative frames towards the inside of the edges of the box.
And when you are finished your diorama will look like this.
O holy patroness of those in need, St. Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistible, who for thy lavishness in granting favours hast been called the Advocate of the hopeless and even of the impossible; St. Rita, so humble, so pure, so mortified, so patient and of such compassionate love for thy Crucified Jesus that thou couldst obtain from Him whatsoever thou askest, on account of which all confidently have recourse to thee expecting, if not always relief, at least comfort; be propitious to our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy suppliant; be lavish to us, as thou hast been in so many wonderful cases, for the greater glory of God, for the spreading of thine own devotion, and for the consolation of those who trust in thee. We promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify thee by making known thy favour, to bless and sing thy praises forever. Relying then upon thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we pray thee grant that... (Make your request here...) as soon as God deems fit. Amen.
To go along with St. Rita I also made a little printable votive candle novena day counter to be used alongside the St. Rita diorama, or with any other novena prayer that you may say. I find it helpful to have visuals to keep track of things, so that is how this printable came about! I’ll be sharing that with you tomorrow, so stick around!
