Trusting in God’s Promises: One Momma’s Letter to You

Losing a baby is no doubt one of the most difficult things a parent can go through. It is wrought with pain, sadness, grief, and suffering. I know, our sweet baby girl Frances Raphael lived 91 radiant minutes. She passed away June 27th, 2014, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Although, I beg those struggling with loss, to not let this be the end of the road. Trust in God’s promises.

St. Frances Raphael
In Psalm 147:13 it says He heals the broken hearted and binds up the wounded. When you pray, ask God to heal your mamma or daddy’s heart. Ask him to surround you with those who can help you on this path. Allow others to love you well while you are grieving, and in turn begin loving well yourself. Let your little one(s) move mountains in your life, allowing their lessons of love to sink to the depths of your soul. Slowly over time it will override the grief so that your soul is transformed in to a beautiful sign of God’s love, a beacon of light of God’s radiant love for us.

We were created to love and be loved. There are many references to this in the Bible in John and Thessalonians as well as other places. Those of us who have lost a precious new soul know all too well that all there is left is love. So I challenge you to step out today and love well in honor of your little ones lost. Honor their legacy of love, by loving well. Love well especially if you are struggling with intense grief. That may look like doing something to take care of yourself, something as simple as allowing the grief to come. Allowing the tears to be cried, the kind that are to the depths of your soul, that when you are done you feel like somehow Heaven understands the depths of your loss that words cannot express. Those tears are healing, and God wants you to be healed.

Let us not forget the symbol of a rainbow. “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Genesis 9: 12-13) Take comfort in knowing there is hope. Hope in God and His mercy and grace. If you listen to His whispers, He will gently guide you towards healing and hope.

Trusting In God's Promises: One Momma's Letter to You

Today I pray for everyone struggling with the loss of a new little soul. Whether it be a natural loss or an abortion. May God heal your heart and help you to move forward in love!
In His Grip,
Shannon
