In Everyday Sacrament: The Messy Grace of Parenting Laura Kelly Fanucci sees the Catholic sacraments through the smudged and sticky lens of life with little ones. From dinnertime chaos to bath-time giggles to never-ending loads of laundry, Laura stumbles into the surprising truth of what the seven sacraments really mean: that God is present always, even in the messes of motherhood. A spiritual memoir of parenting’s early years and a sacramental theology rooted in family life, Everyday Sacrament offers an honest, humorous, and hopeful look at ordinary moments as full of grace.
A SUBTLE GRACE by Ellen Gable
(1)Print Copy and (2) Kindle Copies
1896, Philadelphia. Finalist, IAN Book Awards (Historical, Romance) In this stand alone sequel to “In Name Only” (2009, FQP), “A Subtle Grace” continues the story of the wealthy and unconventional O’Donovan Family as they approach the dawn of a new century. At 19, Kathleen (oldest daughter) is unmarried with no prospects. Fearing the lonely fate of an old maid, her impatience leads to an infatuation with the first man who shows interest. The suave, handsome son of the local police chief seems a perfect match. But will her impulsive manner prevent her from recognizing her true beloved? A disturbing turn of events brings a dark shadow that threatens the life-long happiness she desires.
(2) STORY OF THE BIBLE: VOL. I – THE OLD TESTAMENT
(Dramatized Audio CD)
Children should not just read the Bible, but experience it. In The Story of the Bible young readers will discover not only the sanctity and wisdom, but the excitement of the stories and events that shaped human history and brought about our salvation.
Volume I, The Old Testament, begins the journey. In these pages children will: visit the Garden of Eden; board Noah’s ark; climb the Tower of Babel; follow Moses through the Red Sea; listen to David’s harp; witness Samson’s strength; enter the lion’s den with Daniel; and learn God’s plan from the prophets. Each account is told in story form to engage readers, with each narrative supplemented with actual Bible quotes. Their encounter with Scripture will never be the same.
(2) STORY OF THE BIBLE: VOL. II – THE NEW TESTAMENT
(Dramatized Audio CD)
Volume II, The New Testament, continues the journey, and introduces young readers to Jesus and the apostles. They’ll marvel as they: bow at the manger alongside Mary in the stable; witness Christ resist the Devil’s temptations multiply the loaves and fishes, heal the sick, and raise the dead; experience His passion, death, resurrection, and ascension; and hear the Holy Spirit come like fire at Pentecost to send Peter, Paul, and the apostles out into the world to become the foundation of the Church. This is great giveaway!!!! I would love any of these prizes!
Would love the prayer pillowcases! Little heads can use all the help to sleep that they can get! 🙂
I think I would most like the Guide to Praying as a Family. I’m struggling so hard with this, I feel like our littles (4, 3, 19 months) are missing out because I don’t know how to teach them to pray and it’s just going over their heads. I want to show them how to be reverent, how to love the Lord and how to pray but I feel like I’m failing them horribly, especially the older two. My husband and I have different methods of prayer and it’s hard to get the whole family together on the same page but I know the kids need to see and experience and be involved with family prayer. Any help I can get would be awesome.
I’d love to win a prayer pillow! How adorable! Thanks!
cant pick one… :p the 3d ornaments, the praying as a family book, the Francis box from ccc, the parenting book, the pillow case…. i better stop here 🙂 great stuff, thank you!!
I would love to win the Catholic Faith Box. I also would love the Oh Holy Night magnet set. So many wonderful items here. 🙂
The Everyday Sacrament book looks great for us here. We homeschool and have six children, have elderly live-in in-laws, and are always on the run, usually between normal life, voluteering, taking care of each other, and of course messes. Honestly, if we won anything it would be useful because it has to do with the faith and we try to teach and live by our faith in every moment, not just on Sunday’s.
All of them look fabulous but the gift for kids would be awesome!
Any of these prizes would be awesome!! Glad I found your blog. Heard you on Spirit Catholic Radio!!
the $30 gift certificate for Arma Dei
These are all greay, but I would love the CCC DVDs for my kids!!
