Catholic Monster Spray

Catholic Monster Spray

Are your kids afraid of the dark?  Do they think there is a monster under the bed?

My boys are going through this stage right now and boy is it troublesome at bedtime.  I had come across a “monster spray” on Pinterest that kids could spray in there rooms when they were afraid and I loved the idea!  I thought I would make a Catholic version and use it to teach some prayers at the same time… win, win!

This might be my simplest craft to date so for those of you that like quick and easy, this is it!

Supplies Needed:

  • An empty sprayer.  I got mine for $1.50 at the Dollar Store
  • The printable PDF.  There are two pages/prayers so choose which one you want to print or make two!
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Water {ETA: at the suggestion of a reader, you can also consider using holy water as well}
  • a scent (optional).  I had some fabric softener on hand but you can also use essential oils (lavender would be lovely!)  EDITED TO ADD:  HOLY WATER!  As a convert sometimes I overlook the obvious… thank you Jackie for your facebook comment!

Cut out your prayer of choice.  The PDF has the Guardian Angel prayer as well as the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel.  We chose the Guardian Angel because it is the one we are working on with our boys right now. 🙂

Place the label on the sprayer.  My sprayer had writing on one side so I made sure the photo covered it and the words wouldn’t show through as much.

Tape your label and you are ready to fill it with water and your choice of scent!

There!  It’s already to go!  Don’t you love the reminder to always pray?

We tried the Catholic Monster Spray out this morning!   I am thinking that bedtime will be something to look forward to now! (I’ll have to report back and let you know.  lol!)

What do you think?  Are your kids afraid of the dark?
